Source Water
Source water is supplied from Colorado Springs Utilities and serves as the starting point of the process.
Charcoal Filter
Carbon filtration reduces chlorine, odors, and organic compounds that can affect taste and clarity.
Scale Inhibitor Injection
A food-grade additive is introduced to help prevent mineral buildup on downstream equipment.
Filter to 0.5µ
Fine filtration removes very small suspended particles to further clarify the water.
UV Exposure
Ultraviolet light is used to inactivate microorganisms without adding chemicals.
Reverse Osmosis
Water is forced through a semi-permeable membrane to remove dissolved solids and impurities.
Overflow Filtering
Excess water is continuously filtered to maintain system cleanliness and stability.
Purified Water
The water has now reached a high level of purity and is held for final processing.
